Sample #1 Name: Rumsfeld
Genre: Rock, Instrumental
Artist: Protecious From: Cleveland, Ohio
Comments: There are Some Great Studios in the Cleveland Area and We are Glad That Protecious Chose TSI. In His Own Words: "It's Not Just About Awesome Equipment and a Pretty Building. It's About Creativity Too. You Guys Have it All Covered!" "Rumsfeld" is the Basis for "Enough", a Song by Jeffrey Nothing, Vocalist for National Metal Act Mushroomhead, Which is Studio Sample #9 Below. Both Natural and Sampled Instruments Were Used Creating an Extremely Dynamic and Very Catchy Instrumental Piece.
Sample #2 Name: Zombie In a Cage
Genre: Rap, Hip Hop
Artist: Syko YT From: Lexington, Kentucky
Comments: Syko YT is an Up and Coming Rap Talent Determined to Take No Prisoners. We are Glad He Chose TSI. We are Equally as Pleased With the Final Product. Most of the Instrumentation Was Performed by TSI Session Musicians. The Akai MPC Sampler, Vintage Keyboards and Synthesizers, Vintage Guitars, Amps and More Were All Enlisted for This Project as Well as Our Outboard and Mastering Software and Component-Based Equipment. This is a Good Mixture of Both the Analog and Digital Realms.
Sample #3 Name: Loop #12
Genre: Hip Hop, Instrumental
Artist: TSI From: Winfield, WV
Comments: One of the Staff at TSI Made This Loop to Demonstrate Not Only Professional Sound Quality but Also Proficiency In Professional Loop Making as Well as Our Strong Abilities to be Creative for the Client. All of the Instruments You Hear Were Actually Played With the Exception of the Drums Which Were Programmed With the Akai MPC Sampler. The Other Sampling Was More About Developing an Ambient Bed for the Track. If You Need Music for Your Vocals or Your Rhymes, We Can Definitely Help !
Sample #4 Name: This Masquerade
Genre: Jazz Fusion
Artist: Retrograde From: Parkersburg, WV
Comments: This is a Great Rendition of a Leon Russell Jazz Fusion Number That Was Also Covered by Jazz Great George Benson. This Cut Was Recorded Completely Live and No Tracks Were Overdubbed at All. This Track is a Good Example of How TSI Can Capture a Group's Live Sound but With No Sonic Compromising. TSI Possesses the Know-How, Proper Microphones and Outboard Gear to Professionally Record and Master a Live Performance, Either In the Studio or Out On Location.
Sample #5 Name: Kiddie Boy
Genre: Blues, Blues Rock
Artist: Bob Blaswell Blues Band From: Beckley, WV
Comments: This Cut is a Good Example of Recording a Group With a "Live Feel", but With Some Amount of Overdubbing and Post Production Work. This Resulted In an Extremely Dynamic and Properly Finalized Product That is Not Excessively Volume-Boosted Nor Over-Processed Which is Suitable for the Blues, Blues Rock and R&B Market Niche. TSI Can Achieve a Good Balance Between Creating a "Live Feel" While Maintaining the Client's Creative Vision, Focus and Expectations of an Extremely High Quality Product.
Sample #6 Name: God On the Mountain
Genre: Country, Southern Gospel
Artist: Pemberton Station From: Cairo, WV
Comments: This Session Was Recorded Using Click Tracks and Required the Use of Some Overdubs. The Result is a Modular, Layered Recording In Which All of the Instrumentation and Vocals are Sonically Separated and Very Individually Discernible When Listening to it. We Have a Great Deal of Experience Producing Traditional Gospel and Praise and Worship Music at TSI. Our Goal is to Render an Extremely Clear and Precise Product That Falls In Step With the Established Standards of the Genre.
Sample #7 Name: Dust On the Bible
Genre: Bluegrass, Southern Gospel
Artist: Dupree Family From: Shelbiana, Ky
Comments: This Song Has an Open and Live Feel, However, it Actually Has a Fair Amount of Overdubbing. The Dobro, Fiddle and All of the Vocals Were All Tracked Again After the Primary Rhythmic Instruments Had Been Recorded. This Was Achieved by Using Click and Scratch Tracks to Maintain Familiarity, Consistency and Continuity of the Song. This Could Have Been Recorded Completely Live but the Clients Chose Not to as Some of the Performances Were 'Too Difficult to Get Right' With Only 1 Take.
Sample #8 Name: Gauvotte En Rendeau
Genre: Classical
Artist: J.S. Bach Performed By Steve Myers From: Charleston, WV
Comments: There are a Variety of Ways to Record Classical Guitar. Choosing the Correct Mic is Critical to the Process. Due to the Subtlety of the Instrument, We Generally Choose to Mic Classical Guitar Using Our Ribbon Microphones Set On a Blumlein Axis (AKA Blumlein Pair) Which Has Outstanding Results Per Our Experience. Essentially, the Two Ribbon Microphones Have Crossed Figure-Eight Patterns Which Minimize "Floor Bounce" and Provide Detail That Other Microphones Generally Do Not.
Sample #9 Name: Enough
Genre: Hard Rock and Metal
Artist: Jeffrey Nothing (Mushroomhead) From: Cleveland, Ohio
Comments: This Track is Based On the Song "Rumsfeld" Which is Sample Number One Above. "Enough" is Literally Layered On Top of "Rumsfeld" Without any Changes to the Original Composition. The Collaboration Between Protecious and Mushroomhead's Jeffrey Nothing Results In a Very Interesting Sonic Experiment Outside of the Normal Sound of Mushroomhead. Panning Effects and Doubling of the Vocal Tracks Help to Add Depth and Presence to the Catchy Vocal Melody of an Already Catchy Song.
Sample #10 Name: Pentagon
Genre: Industrial and Metal
Artist: Protecious From: Cleveland, Ohio
Comments: This Interesting Instrumental Piece by Protecious is a Good Example of Blending Natural Instruments and Sampled Sounds. This Culminates In a Very Complex Layering of Sounds, Both Digital and Analog. With This Many Frequency Bands Competing for Space In the Track, it is Paramount to Have the Correct Equipment and Formal Training to Place the Ranges In Their Proper Locations so as to Give the Recording Maximum Clarity, Depth and Cohesion. This is One of Our Specialties at TSI.
