At TSI We Use a Combination of High Quality Outboard Analog Equipment as well as Digital Media, Plugins and Automation. By Combining the Best Features of Analog and Digital Mixing, This Ensures That the Client's Project Benefits From the Dynamics and Warmth of Discrete Electronics, Tubes and Transformers as well as the Continuity, Clarity and Precision of Digital Editing, Equalization, Plug-In Applications and Other Mixing Tools.
Upon Completion of the Session, The Client Will Receive the Finalized Product After Payment In Full is Made. It is Not Required, But, it is Highly Recommended to Purchase the Hard Drive From TSI That Your Project is Stored On.
MASTERING
All of This is Done So That the Project Will Be Sure to Sound Dynamic and Consistent When Played Through any Variety of Consumer Electronics and/or Speaker Combinations. This Entire Process is 'Standardization' Accordingly. The Goal is to Bring the Tracks Up to Industry Requirements and Prepares the Project for Mass-Duplication and Distribution for Multiple Types of Media. Mastering Will Allow Your Tracks to Compete With Others In the Industry.
Typically, a CD, .wav, Mp3, HDD, etc. of a "Final-Mix" is Not a Mastered Product. Despite What is 'Processed' During The Final Mix. Professional Mastering Equipment is Highly Specialized and Very Expensive. Many Studios Don't Have It. We Can Assure Our Clients That We Have All of the Required Equipment and the Necessary Formal Training to Use it at TSI.
Unfortunately, Many Professional Recording Studios Claim to be Mastering Studios When, In Fact, They are Not...It is Always a Good Idea to Do Some Research Before Committing to a Studio That Claims to Master Recordings to Any Kind of Industry Standardization. IF YOUR PROJECT IS NOT SUBMITTED IN INDUSTRY-STANDARD FORMAT TO CORPORATE A&R, TALENT AGENCIES, RADIO/TELEVISION BROADCASTERS, PROFESSIONAL DUPLICATION/PRESSING HOUSES, ETC. IT WILL BE REJECTED. TSI is a Mastering Studio with the Correct Equipment and Experienced, Formally Trained and Credentialed Staff to Finalize Recordings. Please Feel Free to Call Us if You Have any Questions, at: 304 541 6358.
MAXIMUM CD TIME
TSI Can Not Produce and/or Duplicate CDs That are Longer Than the Limit Set In the Sony-Philips Red Book Standard. This Means That the Finalized CD Must Not Exceed 79:38. Per Our Experience With This Process, Our Preference is Not to Exceed 77 Minutes Per CD as a Precaution. However, if the Client Does Need Additional Time Over 77 Minutes, We May be Able to Accommodate This Request. This is Dependent Upon Each Client's Specific Project Requirements Accordingly.

What Exactly is Mastering ??? Mastering is the Final, Critical Step to the Recording Process. It is a Process Whereby a Project, After Being Mixed Down (Final Mix), Has the Following Processes Completed: - Raise the Overall Level as Needed While Maintaining Enough Headroom to Enhance Dynamics
- Encoding: Sony-Philips Red and Blue Book Compliance, ISRC, ISO T15707, DDP, ISWC, CDDB, etc
- Calibration and Test Toned for Mass Duplication Including .wav, AIFF, Tape, Vinyl Pressings, etc
- Equalization With High Quality Equalizers That Have Been Specifically Designed for This Process
- Limited as Necessary Using Highly-Specialized Limiting Amplifiers Developed for Mastering
- Referenced (Play Back) Through Several Sets of Professional and Consumer Grade Speakers
- Track Sequencing, Track Spacing, Noise Elimination and a Cohesive Flow Between the Tracks
- Balanced In Volume and Dynamics With Other Tracks on the CD or Other Media (Vinyl, Tape, etc)
- CD Text Applied: Artist, Title, and Track Names That are Displayed by PC's, Macs, CD Players, etc
All of This is Done So That the Project Will Be Sure to Sound Dynamic and Consistent When Played Through any Variety of Consumer Electronics and/or Speaker Combinations.
